Romans 8:4-10:15

Mathew's Bible was a significant milestone in the English Bible. It represented the first printed compilation of all of William Tyndale's translation work. It was issued in 1537, less than a year after Tyndale's death. It was compiled by John Rogers, who published it under the pseudonym of Thomas Mathew.

The leaf displayed here is from the first edition. This was the earliest printing of an English language Bible that had been translated directly from the original Hebrew and Greek. This very rare leaf is over 470 years old.
