1855 Bible

William Waddell, one of the founders of the Pony Express, also established a freight transportation company. He gave a Bible to each of his riders and freight drivers to carry with them on their journeys. Several different versions were printed for this purpose. The Bible displayed here is an edition carried by freight wagon drivers. It was printed in New York by the American Bible Society.
